Teacher Cultivation Education is a long-term educating process. It refers to aprocess that normal school students naturally generate professional teacher’s qualities,and form teacher’s personality through the influence of educational practice, personalprofessional experience, and teacher culture. Normal universities and colleges are themost important places for cultivating the future teachers, they must strengthen theTeacher Cultivation Education. Normal universities and colleges not only payattention to educating normal students’ professional knowledge and skills, mostimportantly, but also concentrate on cultivating of their professional trait ofpersonality such as the aspects of professional spirits, professional emotions,professional ethnics. The teacher we want to cultivate is not a teacher who just knowteach students according to books, but an educationist with all the professionalqualities, so Teacher Cultivation Education is needed to penetrate the whole normaleducation.This article discusses something about Teacher Cultivation Education. Firstly, theauthor makes a definition of some related concepts such as cultivation, CultivationEducation and Teacher Cultivation Education. Secondly, the author makes an analysison the theoretical basis of Teacher Cultivation Education and explains the connotationof Teacher Cultivation Education, also analyses the significances of TeacherCultivation Education towards teacher’s professional development. And then, with thebase of these theoretical discussions about Teacher Cultivation Education, the authormakes a questionnaire survey of teacher cultivating about normal students, grasps thecurrent situation on teacher cultivating and analyses the causes. Lastly, the author tryto put forward suggestions from the four aspects, such as building a full range ofnormal education curriculum system, improving normal students’ education ofprofessional ideals and faiths, strengthening the self-construction of normal colleges’or universities’ teachers and building a great teacher culture for normal students.The author hopes to provide some inspirations and helps toward normaleducation by the study, the author also hopes to improve the development ofprofessional qualities of normal students, so that can promote normal students tochange from the role of student to the role of teacher.
