Abstract:Male teachers, as a special part of the group of the kindergarten teachers, have been increasing with the flourishing development of pre-school education. Questions are:How is the surviving condition of male-teachers? What are the pressures they have undertaken? How is their marriage and interpersonal relationship? Can they get the opportunity for further development in their career? How to improve their life quality?In this study, questionnaire was used to investigate51male-teachers who worked in the kindergartens of Chengdu. Research results indicate that:1. Male teachers working in kindergarten are of young age, the average age of26.1years, the average working time of3.4years.2.Although they have got higher education, there are still problems in their professional practice in kindergarten.3. Their profession as a kindergarten teacher has impact on their marriage to some extent, one third of the male students in kindergarten has no girlfriends;4. They confront with huge economic pressure; more than80percent of male kindergarten teachers admitted that most of their pressure resulted from their low income.5. Male teachers it hard to be committed in their current career; two thirds of the male teachers are not sure about their future and few of them have long plans about their career in kindergarten.6.They get along well with others and popular among the children and their parents.7. Male teachers have more opportunities and face more problems.8. There is seriously surviving condition of male teachers who work in the private kindergarten.Measures should be taken in order to improve the life quality of male teachers working in the kindergartens. Primarily, the government should increase the investment and supervision in order to crate good work environment and condition. Secondly, the managers of kindergarten should mend the management mechanism to create developmental environment and should well propagandize in order to improve commitment of male teachers. In addition, talent training institutions have responsibility for improving the sense of commitment. Last but not the least; the media should do good publicity to enhance the social identity of the male teachers.
