The relationship between teachers and students is always the focus of educational theory and practice. Although the theoretical study on this problem has been enhanced to a new stage recently, there are still defaults in the study field such as the lack of positiveness because of the concept analysis and theoretical construction in researching methods, and the lack of specific contextual studies of teacher-student relationship in researching content.The relationship between teachers and students which used to be claimed as a simple relation, now has become more and more complex, due to the comprehensive research from different angles of the teacher, the student and teaching, combined with the author’s own experience. The relationship is even presented as alternated, strained or even conflicted. Thus, such unharmonious teacher-student relationship should be the function for better construction, and the basic stage of the construction from the unharmonious teacher-student relationship to quasi-harmonious teacher-student relationship up to a harmonious one. Quasi-harmonious teacher-student relationship is the intermediate stage and a transitional stage between the unharmonious one and the harmonious one. It is presented as some kind of harmony while not comprehensive, nor entire, complete, or stereoscopic.It is learnt from practice that "all successful education comes from harmonious education." And the key for harmonious education lies in the harmonious teacher-student relationship. The real harmonious teacher-student relationship must be a comprehensive one, namely, the teachers and the students are equal in nature, thus their communication should be democratic, and the atmosphere of getting on with each other should be harmonious. The establishment of harmonious teacher-student relationship will help us to realize that the charm of education lies in the mutual inspiration, motivation, soul-rousing, infection and purification more than teaching knowledge and skill. The harmonious teacher-student relationship attaches more attention on the healthy development of mind and body, the cultivation of innovation, and new ways of learning which enables students to gain the willingness and ability for a life-long study, in order to realize the coordination between knowledge and ability.The establishment of harmonious teacher-student relationship is a development commonly shared by both sides. It requires the mutual efforts from teachers and students:the teaching and guiding from the teachers and the cooperation from the students. The teachers should focus on and considerate of the students comprehensively and accept each student equally and thoroughly. In harmonious teacher-student relationship lies equality and democracy. Only if the teachers understand. and love their students genuinely can they truly appreciate the students, reach the students’soul and become their intimate friends. In addition, the construction of harmonious teacher-student relationship could also be enhanced by the creation of harmonious campus atmosphere, emphasis on family education, and the reform on the evaluation system of education.
