Research On Multi-campus Grid Safety System

Multi-campus university is a relatively common pattern of school-running for higher education in world wide. In China, with the popularizing process of higher education developing in depth and breadth, the expansion of school sizes and the broadening of campus areas, more and more colleges and universities employ the school-running pattern of multi campuses for one university, which raises new problems and challenges for campus security management.Based on the information management and digital campus construction carried out by universities in recent years, this article lays stress on the study of applying the fundamental ideas, principles and technologies of the rising grid management to the security management of multi-campus universities, attempting to solve the problem lied in the security management of multi-campus universities by establishing Campus Grid Safety System (CGSS). This article also puts forward the basic content of CGSS, including its fundamental concepts, characteristics, management approaches and basic components or units; introduces the design and development of the system including the technological base, the establishment of database as well as the data flow; and takes the example of CGSS set up in a multi-campus university to illustrate the practical application of the system, which includes the management system, operating mechanism (the construction of levels, working process), and actual operating effect, etc. of the system construction.The article provides an outlook on the prospect and orientation of the practice research, pointing out that the fundamental ideas, structures, approaches and methods of CGSS could be applied in more and wider fields of campus management, which offers a new idea for solving a series of problems existing in the campus management of multi-campus universities, such as establishing Campus Grid Logistics Service System, Campus Grid Teaching Management System, Campus Grid Student Management System and so on.
