The local geography is an important part of the geography education inJunior school which plays an irreplaceable role in the geographical teachingof middle school. With its existence by side, students are able to get directperception and obtain the book knowledge provided by local geography forputting into practice. In this way it stimulates students ’interest in learning andhelps to guide the students to learn geography in better way and self learningability and what’s more, enhances students’ emotion to love their hometownand motherland.In nowadays, Population, resources, and environmental problems arebecoming increasingly serious. Nearly two years’ extremes climate changeand natural disasters which have strong geography characteristics becomemore frequent. Guiding students to focus on global issues, carrying scientificand humanistic spirit, enhancing the students’ concept in population,resources, environmental values and human society co-ordination between theconcepts of sustainable development, building the sense of socialresponsibility for our future national builders, patriotic emotions of our timeare the glorious mission of the local geography education. The new geographycurriculum standards emphasis outstanding local geography teaching, andalso attaches importance to the teaching of local geography. However the survey shows that in Bayannaoer city, local geography teaching has not beengiven sufficient attention. Therefore, carrying out the Bayannur localgeography teaching and local geography in Bayannaoer teaching resourcesdevelopment under the new curriculum is very worthy of study andexploration. The purpose of this paper, by studying Bayannaoer localgeography resources beneficial to local schools teaching curriculum resourcesof the local geography, local geography teaching design case, and theimplementation of the local Native Geography, Geographic educational goalsfor teachers and students, is aiming to contribute to a certain reference valueon the Bayannur secondary local geography education and research.This paper uses research methods such as literature search, fieldinvestigations, case analysis. With Bruner’s cognitive-discovery learningtheory, constructivist learning theory, humanistic learning theory and the newcurriculum standards for the theoretical foundation, adhering to the scientificservices to students, following the practical principle of Bayannaoer, thispaper searching from the reality of the city, designs four City local geographyteaching cases as following "knowing Bayannaoer ","how Bayannaoeragricultural developing ’local conditions’","the open up and sustainabledevelopment of Ulansuhai Lake area"," tourist area of the Yellow Rivercustoms inspection ". Those cases’ design focuses on stress student-centered,highlighting the dominant position of students, teachers’ guide and facilitator,in which teachers are no longer the teaching master. In this paper, the designof the four cases, with strong local geographical features, may contribute to the development of local services, user-friendly, instructive, and interactivefeatures of the teaching process. The design of the four cases helps to trainlocal student’s life skills, and stimulates students’ interest to promote thecontact of the textbook knowledge so that practice activities will certainlyhelp the students building a sense of social responsibility and improving theiroverall quality aspects. Teaching methods carrying out in Bayannaoer localgeography, in line with the core issue of geography and also in line with therequirements of the times is aiming to achieve "To learn for the usefulgeographic study on life, to learn for the lifelong development of geography."The Bayannur native geography teaching should be given adequate attention.And the way of the Bayannur native geography teaching in the use of case canbe carried out by independent course and immersion teaching methods.
