Global digital level is becoming higher and higher along with the arrival of information age. The era of reading image is coming because image is used everywhere in our life. People obtain more and more information from image in daily life, but sometimes the message is uneven, some good and some bad. It is an opportunity, also a kind of crisis. So it is necessary to information literacy training for students.This article is mainly about exploring the method of improving students’ information literacy by cartoon teaching. Proposing the cartoon teaching model, which is consisted of cartoon watching, cartoon copy, cartoon creation and cartoon showing. Stating the each part of cartoon teaching’s influence to improving of student’s information literacy. In practice teaching, author drew some conclusions as that:firstly cartoon watching could strengthen students’ability of identifying information, secondly cartoon copy and creation could enhance the students ability of information processing and creating, at last, cartoon showing could make the morality of using cartoon information more standard for students. Based on these three points, this cartoon teaching model could enhance students’ information literacy entirely. The innovation of this paper is enhancing students’information literacy using cartoon teaching, which is vivid and artistic, it is consistent with the image of the psychological characteristics of students, and adapting to the requirement of "images reading " era.In this paper, first of all, showing the research status and research meaning concisely,giving the research target, content and innovation; secondly, referring to the domestic and foreign research result for information literacy research, introducing training goal, content and approach of information literacy for primary school students’ in details, proposing the author’s viewpoint for improving information literacy; thirdly, analyzing the cartoon’s characteristics and function; fourthly, making the cartoon teaching model based on research of information literacy and cartoon, finally, summarizing specific function for enhancing information literacy.
