Research Of The Coordination Between Higher Education And Regional Economy Of Zhejiang Province

The coordination between education and economy is always an important issue that educational economics concerns. As the most direct and closest part related to economy, the correlationship between higer education and education is always the hot issue of research in recent years. Since1990s, research of coordinated development between higher education and regional economy has been getting more and more attention from the governments at various levels and scholars. The degree of market development in Zhejiang is already at a relatively perfect level and there is great development in higher education in past years, while rarely systematic study is about harmony between higher education and regional economy.With backgroud of the current situation of higher education development in Zhejiang, based on analyses of the scale and structure of development and through a large number of correlation and regression analysis, the paper quantitatively studies the coordiantion between higher education and regional economy and strives to give some instructions for its promotion.In this paper, we investigated the coordinative relations between higher education and regional economic development in Zhejiang Province by analyzing the datum about the scale and structure of high school education and economy with correlation analysis and regression analysis method. Moreover, human capital theory, regional competitiveness theory and triple helix theory were applied as basic theory in this study. The issues involves many subjects such as economics, statistics, management science and pedagogy.The results indicate that the higher education and regional economy in Zhejiang Province has being developing rapidly during the last three decades. The scale of the higher education generally agrees with the regional economy development. However, the major, structure and hierarchy of higher education disagree with the regional economy development. Compared with the higher education and regional economy development in other provinces, the development speed of higher education in Zhejiang Province is behind the development of its local economy and the size and structure of its higher education does not coincide with its economy development. The reason is not only due to the foundation for the development of higher education, but also related to the degree of market and the development environment of its higher education.We aim to solve the problems of incoordination between high school education and region economy development in Zhejiang Province from the following aspects. Firstly, about organizational innovation, it is need to establish a new type of organization to deal with affairs on dedicating higher education development match its local economy development. Secondly, it is urgent to regulat structure of higher education and economic and balance both sides to adapt the needs of the society. Thirdly, investment and human force on higher education reformation must be increased. Finally, further cooperation between universities and economic organizations should be on the agenda.
