Shanghai Vocational Colleges Independent Enrollment Reform Research

Shanghai is not only the important economy center of China, but also one of the first places which enter into the popularization of higher education. Shanghai University of Technology began independent enrollment reform at undergraduate level in1993, which became the origin of Shanghai independent enrollment reform. With the development of economy, more and more "Application Talents"&"Skillful Talents" are needed. According to this situation, in2001, independent enrollment reform happened in vocational colleges which had the rest of recruitment numbers.This thesis author firstly analyses the whole background of Shanghai independent recruitment reform and then analyses the reasons of this event. Secondly, author analyses the content of Shanghai vocational colleges independent recruitment reform which based on some policy documents. What’s more, the author elects four recruitment group-leader colleges to compare their reform documents. The four colleges are Shanghai Jianqiao College, Shanghai Sanda Institute, Shanghai Second Polytechnic University and Shanghai Commercial College. Through these contrasting, it aims to clarify the recruitment qualifications, test courses, matriculate ways and tracking the reform effects. Thirdly, after analyzing the effect of Shanghai vocational colleges independent recruitment reform, the author compares the situation of Shanghai to Beijing and Guangdong vocational colleges independent reforms to summarize the advantages of Shanghai vocational colleges independent reform. In the end, the author summarizes the weaknesses of Shanghai vocational colleges independent reform and gives some advises to improve Shanghai vocational colleges independent reform.
