The Causes And The Countermeasure Analysis Of University Students' Cheating In The Exam

As the corn of the society in the future, the college students will play a crucial part in future national construction, and their professional knowledge and state of moral will directly determine our country’s modernization, even the future of our nation. However, there is a growing tendency of college students’cheating in the examinations, which damages the quality of education, social personnel evaluation, social justice and honesty. So how to prevent the cheating in the exams has been the focus of people’s attention.Based on the questionary of more than1,000college students, the author analyses the various cheating methods, inner motives and extrinsic factors. There are lots of factors which lead to the cheating and dishonesty. Some college students couldn’t concentrate on their studies so they would try some cheating ways. They lack self-discipline and self-examination. In the society, there are some bad tendencies like some government officers taking bribes, some sellers making and selling counterfeit and shoddy goods. College students begin to lose confidence in faithfulness. The punishment for dishonesty is also far from strict so that lots of people want to do the dishonest things by opportunism. Besides these factors, school and family play a key role. Some colleges value intellectual education more than moral one, and the moral education has nothing to do with the reality. The exam management has lots of problems. The teaching methods are also boring and stiff. Some parents value the children’s study but ignore their moral education; some parents demand the children to be honest but they always did some dishonest things.This article tries to put forward some measures to fight against cheating, like improving the credit system, strengthening the exam management, reforming the moral education, establishing the credit history system and increasing the punishment level.The college should give full play to the credit system. The students could choose the subjects and teachers freely; the teacher should improve the quality of teaching; the examination system should be improved, the evaluation methods should be more efficient and the exam discipline should be strict; the channels for credibility education should be widened and the content should be enriched and vivid to move students and also attract them; various activities about integrity could be carried on so that students could broaden their horizon to see faithfulness; credit history system could be set up first. The student’s study and daily life could be evaluated according to some standards; the punishment level should be increased and the system against the cheating should be brought into the legal orbit.
