High school art appreciation education is the organic part of art education in high school. Art appreciation education is to strengthen the open education quality, an important measures, is the overall improvement of the teaching quality, to meet the future social development and the comprehensive development of students and long-term development needs. Art appreciation education can improve students’ appreciation of aesthetic temperament and interest, aesthetic ability, is to cultivate students’ artistic accomplishment and discriminating a important way. Since the art as required courses listed in the high school education course in China, schedule of the importance of the reform, it is more and more outstanding.However, when the author discovered that the thorough understanding after the implementation of the art appreciation with the process of implementing, far less than new course standard requirements. The author selected the headquarters of the10high school district as the research object, by questionnaire,interview, observation etc mainly complementary methods, this area high school art appreciation, the study status quo to produce this phenomenon and the influencing factors of some analysis.Survey results show that, under the influence of "the university entrance exam" system, high school art appreciation class exists serious shortage, classroom teaching content and conformity, art discipline and teachers’ low status, teaching resources, urban and rural art teaching differences, art teacher teaching lack of innovation consciousness and so on.In order to coordination of new curriculum reform better, to meet the challenge of rapidly advancing art appreciation, author puts forward the following countermeasures:Promotes the teaching idea, the teachers and students common development;Show discipline charm, mining works implication;Improve the teaching art, enhance course charm;Schools to provide the material conditions.
