The new high school curriculum reform repositions the value of musicsubject. There are four aspects,namely the aesthetic experience, creativedevelopment, social communication and culture inheritance. The reason whythere is such a position, is that music plays an important role in society andculture inheritance. At the same time,it also plays an important role inchanging and remodeling the value of heart. It positions the nature in the "humanities fields "," a major approach to aesthetic education "," the basicstage of education courses " and so on,which reflect and highlight theconnotation and requirement of quality education,so we should be fully awareof the importance of the guidance of basic idea of music curriculum to musicteaching. Among the six modules of the new curriculum reform, the musicappreciation module is a compulsory module that is the main course topromote students’ learning of basic music culture. Its educational function andvalue in the high school music curriculum highlights and is primary. Theimplementation of the new curriculum in Wuhai, we have seen the problemsin the teaching of music appreciation in the compulsory module for threeyears. What kind of method to be adopted to adjust the lag problem of highschool music appreciation teaching of the compulsory module is a bigproblem to study and solve urgently in Wuhai.This thesis adopts the methods of literature and investigation. Itinvestigates the basis of students, learning attitude and motivation,teachers’teaching and scientific research and the use of teaching materials in threehigh schools in Wuhai.It also investigates the present situation of music classfrom many aspects in senior high school of Wuhai city. Based on the students,teachers and school interview, I find out the problems existing in high schoolmusic teaching in Wuhai, and analyze the causes, then put forward the corresponding settlement tactics.The first chapter presents the research direction and the meaning of the exploration of the thesis and lets us understand the essential difference between" appreciation" and " enjoy "through the concept of identification of music appreciation and music differentiation, which reveals the significance of new curriculum reform..It also shows the environment of the new curriculum throughthe current situation analysis both abroad and domestic.The second chapter investigates on the status quo of Wuhai ordinary highschool music appreciation course by questionnaires, and counts the resultsin the form of chart.The third chapter reaches a conclusion of the current situation of musicteaching in high schools of Wuhai through students and teachers’ surveys andinterviews. It also help us understand the problems of the process of highschool music teaching in Wuhai and analyses the reason why these problemsgenerated.The fourth chapter respectively puts forward the corresponding solutionstrategies from students, teachers, teaching materials and teaching forproblems in high school music teaching in Wuhai.
