In this research,632participants were selected from two vocational colleges in JiangSu province as the subjects. With the help of questionnaire (Study Process Questionnaire, Tennessee Self Concept Scale and Social Support Rating Scale) and case study, traits of vocational college students’study motivation, self concept and social support situation as well as their relationship were surveyed. The chiefly aim is to find the feasible way to improve the study motivation of vocational college students.Study results:1. The total scores of vocational college students’study motivation are in a normal distribution and in the medium level. Study motivation is mainly by deep motivation and achievement motivation as the leading factor. The overall level of the vocational college students’study motivation requires to be improved.2. There are significant differences between surface motivation and demographic variables (gentle, grade, Only Child or not, profession, hometown, class management mode). There are significant differences between deep motivation and grade, hometown, class management mode, parenting style. There are significant differences between achievement motivation and gentle, class management mode, parenting style. There are significant differences between total study motivation and parenting style. But there is no significant difference between the level of parent’s culture or family income.3. The scores of vocational college students’self concept are slightly better than the median.4. Vocational college students’social support level is in the medium Range.5. Vocational college students’study motivation and its three factors have positive correlation with the eight factors of self-concept significantly except self-criticism factor. Regression analysis shows that social-self exerts a positive forecast function to surface motivation. Psychological-self, self-satisfaction, self-identity and self-action exert positive forecast functions to deep motivation. Family self and moral self exert positive forecast functions to achievement motivation. 6. Vocational college students’surface motivation has positive correlation with subjective support significantly. Total study motivation, deep motivation and achievement motivation have significantly positive correlation with all the three factors of the social support. Regression analysis shows that social support exerts a positive forecast function to surface motivation. Objective support, subjective support and support bioavailability exert positive forecast functions to deep motivation. Subjective support and support bioavailability exert positive forecast functions to achievement motivation.7. The case study also shows that taking effective psychological intervention can significantly improve the study motivation level of students.
