College sports education is an essiential ingredient for higher education, and therefore theuniversity sports curriculum as the core content during the higher education must closely followthe steps for reform and develpment of the higher education. Under this grim reality, our sportsexperts and specialities hold hot discussion around the reform and innovation of college sportseducation, unveiled the the college sports reform discourse with vigour and vitality. According tosome research in this area, our sports education ideas is following the pace of modern times, atthe meanwhile, catering to the scientific outlook on development. At present, although there area few research on college sports education in China, many of them did not go far and deepinside the education and teaching. Similiarly, there are numerous books and materials on thecourse reform of university sports curriculum, few people are willing to focus on the reform ofsports enducation in independent institute, let alone in Beijing independent institutes.Nowadays, the scale of independent institutes is expanding year by year. Our Ministry ofEducation, for the purposes of strengthening the micro-managemnt of sports education,introduced the social supervision mechanism to enhance the information sevice functiion ingovernment departments, ensuring the appropriate scale, quality and station of teaching ingeneral higher education system. Until early in2012, there is a total of298independentinstitutes that hold the qualification on general higher education entrance examination andapproved by the government, however, only5in Beijing. This paper integrated the literaturematerial law, the logical inductive method, interview method, questionnaire survey method andmathematical statistics method to survey on the sports teaching mode of “Integration of InClass and After Class” in all Beijing independent institutes, revealing their problems duringsports teaching. In conclusion, their problems are mainly: administrative mechanism leg behind;teaching content, teaching form and teaching method of physical education fail to meet theeducation objectives; the sports teaching facilities can not meet the students’ basic trainingneeds of teachers; the proportion of numbers of teachers is unreasonable and teachers cannotfit the new requirements of higher level courses. This paper is aimed at preciselydemonstrateing the merits and drawbacks of sports educaion in independent institutes. Thus,we can cut down the blindness and shortage in this area, and explore a new way of collegesports education for the independent institutes with characteristics, in order to promote thesustainable and healthy development of sports teaching in the independent institutes. Thispaper hopes to be able to catch the attention of relevant departments on the developingindependent institutes and to expect more advice from experts and secialities on the sportsteaching mode of “Integration of In Class and After Class”, making the college sports educationin China more descriptive and pertinence.
