Foreign Language Universities Interdisciplinary Construction

At present, the development of interdisciplinary subjects has been the trend indisciplinary development in institutions of higher education. Moreover, the experiencehas been obtained. The development of interdisciplinary subjects lays the foundationof sustainable development of foreign language universities. Therefore, it is urgent forthe institutions of higher education to study the theories of interdisciplinary subjects,to summarize the experience in disciplinary subject development so as to generallychange the backward conditions of the development of interdisciplinary subjects inforeign language universities.The paper comprises two parts. The first part is on the theories ofinterdisciplinary subjects that elaborate in three aspects namely, interdisciplinarysubject mechanism, interdisciplinary types, and interdisciplinary subjects methods, inwhich the analysis and synthesis of interdisciplinary subjects are the focus. It draws,organizes and summarizes the group sequence and type hierarchy of interdisciplinarysubject mechanism, and offers the solutions to the interdisciplinary subjects from theangle of philosophy and methodology. The second part is on the meaning, structure,function, organizing types, and organizing mechanism of interdisciplinary subjectsand its system. This part introduces the disturbance factors of interdisciplinarysubjects and discusses the competitive and symbiotic relationship among varioussubjects within the subject system. Studying the case of Sichuan International StudiesUniversity, the paper envisages the development of interdisciplinary subjects andseeks to offer a feasible frame of reference for the development of interdisciplinarysubjects in foreign language universities.
