Higher Vocational Education The Region Economy Development Question Research

The economic development requires a lot of support of talents and intelligence, and higher vocationaleducation plays an important role in the development of regional economy according to its occupational andregional characteristics. It has the vital significance in making higher vocational education better adapt to thedevelopment of regional economy, so as to realize the interactive promotion of regional economy and highervocational education.At present, the status quo of Chinese higher vocational education is that many schools are accustomed tothe traditional educational ideas, instead of setting up the service consciousness for the local economicdevelopment and the consciousness of market economy in the real sense; although they put forward to theschool idea “service for the purpose, employment as the guidance”. So it can’t truly reflect the highervocational education’s occupational and regional nature in talent cultivation mode, teaching content, teachingmethods, curriculum and other aspects.The reason is that it lacks the government’s support and social recognition; further more, the highervocational education itself neither gets rid of the traditional ideas nor innovates boldly reform. Highervocational education not only needs its own distinctive features but also finds the most suitable school ofthought and mode for its own development.The nature of occupation and region is the essential characteristics of higher vocational education, whoseultimate purpose is to serve the regional economic development. However, currently, because of variousreasons, some higher vocational education schools have inaccurate orientation, lost its own characteristics, anddeviate from the original purpose of running. On the one hand, they imitate the educational mode of ordinaryhigher education; on the other hand they can’t play its due role, and get social recognition. Today with thehigh-speed economic development and detailed division of labor in society, a large number of high-quality andhigh-skilled professionals are more needed for higher vocational education to transport to the regionaleconomic development. Only based on the purpose of servicing for the regional economic and socialdevelopment, can higher vocational education go further development, boost regional economy, and realize thehealthy, sustainable development of economy and education.This article demonstrates by using the survey method, case study method, functional analysis, experiencesummary method etc, and considerates the related monographs, journals, newspapers, papers and other materials as the main reference of writing this article; most of all, the rational knowledge of connotation andconcept related in this article refers to the ideas and discussions of authoritative scholars in vocationaleducation. This text proposes personal views based on the analysis and summary of all these ideas.Higher vocational education must serve the regional economic development after analyzing the currentsituation and the existing problems of higher occupation education in China. Through the successfulexperiences of Rizhao College of Vocation and Technique in recent years as well as the butt joint of ShandongPeninsula blue economic zone, higher vocational education proposes the strategies and suggestions to solve theproblem and promote the coordinated development, which is as a reference to many colleges and universities.It helps to further clarify the problems existing in higher vocational education by analyzing the status of highervocational education; and it is useful to explore the status and essence of higher vocational education bydemonstrating the relationship between higher vocational education and regional economic development,which also has a directional guiding role to the development of higher vocational education.To study the coordinated development of higher vocational education and regional economy, not only hasan important role in improving the teaching quality of higher vocational education, strengthening scientificmanagement and promoting rapid economic development, but also has important theory significance andpractical value to promote harmonious development of both.
