Abstract:Along with the continuous expansion of graduate enrollment and growing social problems like structural unemployment, the issue about the graduates cultivation has become increasingly important, however, social ability of graduates and employment problems still has not been widespread concerned. The study of graduates social ability is not enough in-depth and comprehensive. Therefore, due to long-term neglect of social ability training, graduate students cannot be well adapted to the needs of society.From the perspective of social demand, analyzing the present situation and problems of the study on postgraduates social ability can help us to define the needs of society. Besides, it can also provide a theory basis for relevant guidance and assessment of school and promoting the reform of teaching, perfecting the talents cultivation system, setting up practice link. From the perspective of graduates, they will benefit from planning their own development and realizing job matching, so as to better and faster to adapt to the social demand for high-level personnel.Based on related theory of sociology, psychology, management, education. This paper uses the method of literature research and case studies to analyze social ability of graduate students, especially focus on the present situation of graduate education at home and abroad. In both theoretical and practical aspects, this paper analyzes the problems of graduate student ability training existing in Chinese society and further study of the advanced foreign experience and characteristics as well as the influence to our country. It actually defines social ability of graduate students under society perspective, builds social ability structure model and the hierarchical model, explore ways to cultivate graduate students’ social ability, and improve the training evaluation mechanism.The structure of the paper is as follows:The first part is the introductory part. It briefly elaborates the significance of the topic, the background, thesis research methods and related literature review.Chapter1analyzes social ability in different disciplines. The concept of social ability from a social perspective is defined through the analysis of the social ability both at home and abroad. The elements and its structure and hierarchical modeling of social ability will also be covered in this part.Chapters2and3is the core part of the paper. Compared present situation and representative training mode between at home and abroad, the paper identifies the shortcomings of social competence training in China. It summarizes the features of foreign training of social ability and implication for China. Chapter4will also explore ways for graduate social ability cultivation.The author enriches the way to cultivate social ability of graduate students mainly from several aspects like social practice.social work.student organizations.ideological and political education.Chapter4briefly expounds evaluation methods and principles of graduate social ability training.
