As far as our knowledge is concerned, autonomous learning ability is no doubt abasic ability in physics learning. But we cannot deny the fact that during the traditionalphysical education, too much emphasis is excessively laid on the dominant position ofteachers, but not on that of students, which results in the sad truth that students’ physicsautonomous learning ability hasn’t been greatly cultivated.In this study, under the guidance of theory of autonomous learning, the authorfirstly investigated and analyzed the status of physics autonomous learning ability ofthe average students in grade one of Tin Ka ping Experimental High School throughworking out the early questionnaire named students’ physics autonomous learningability, on basis of which, during a series of teaching process as follows, such asconcept introduction, setting rules, instructing experiments, practice, reviewing,andorganizing after-school activities, she set physics teaching strategies aimed atcultivating the physics autonomous learning ability of the students in grade one. Atthe same time, she carried out the experimental physics teaching among the students ingrade one for a whole semester. Eventually, according to the data analysis of latequestionnaire named students’ physics autonomous learning ability and the students’satisfactory physics scores during the final test, it proved that the strategies putforward in the study are definitely practical and can be efficient.
