Study On Cultivation Of Application-oriented Undergraduate Talents In Colleges And Universities In Minority Regions Of The Northwest

With the arrival of the globalization of the world economy and the knowledge-based economy, China’s economic structure has undergone a great change, what the social need most is Application-oriented Talents among diversified social demand, meanwhile, the development goal of China’s higher education is gradually shifting to it. With the popularization of higher education, cultivation of application-oriented undergraduate talents have become one of the central issue in higher education study and the strategic emphasis of China’s higher education development. This paper analyzes the characteristics of colleges and universities in minority regions of the Northwest and the inevitability of cultivation of application-oriented undergraduate Talents in such colleges and universities and propose recommendations on the basis of analysis on the current situation, existing problems and causes.Therefore, the article will focus on the following four topics:The first part analyzes the characteristics of colleges and universities in minority regions of the Northwest and the inevitability of cultivation of application-oriented undergraduate talents in such colleges and universities; The second part focus on the current situation of cultivation of application-oriented undergraduate Talents in colleges and universities in minority regions of the Northwest, within a case study of Kashi Normal University and Gansu Normal University for Nationalities, typical representative among them; The third part analyzes the existing problems and its causes in cultivation of application-oriented undergraduate Talents in colleges and universities in minority regions of the Northwest; The fourth part propose recommendations to the cultivation of application-oriented undergraduate Talents in colleges and universities in minority regions of the Northwest in the aspects of concept transition, specialty setting, talents cultivation programme, teaching staff construction and practicalness in the process of cultivation.
