Reading and writing in language teaching is self-evident, the teachinggoal of which in high school is to achieve efficiency of the teaching. However,there still exists low efficiency on the language teaching of reading andwriting in high school at present.In the national high school of Helingeer County where the author teaches,the language teaching of reading and writing is not full of ideal effect. It isshowed in the survey results that the students have many problems in readingand writing. The paper, based on the learning from academic research onlanguage teaching of reading and writing, will objectively give the overviewof their current situation, and explore the causes with a variety of researchmethods, subsequently, some advanced concepts, such as the cognitivereading theory, the effective teaching theory and the constructivist theory,should be used in the process of classroom teaching, in order to continuouslyimprove language teaching effectiveness with the proper strategies inlanguage teaching and its evaluation.The thesis is divided into the introduction, the body, and the conclusion.The introduction part gives the explanations for reasons and significance ofthe research, the current academic research, the scope of the study and theresearch methods. The body part is divided into three parts: The first partprovides problems existing in language teaching of reading and writing in the national high school of Helingeer County; second part analyses the causes ofthe problems; the third part of the teaching strategies. The conclusion partprovides the summary. Through one-year experience in teaching practice, it isproved that the conclusion of research on teaching strategies is practicallyvaluable to the students, whose reading and writing skills have beensignificantly improved. It is hoped that the study will provide some referencesto broaden the horizons on reading and writing strategies research in currenthigh school language teaching.
