Teacher is the basic element of education. As the development of newcurriculum reform, improving teachers’ teaching ability is the key to improvethe quality of instruction and education revolution. Primary shool Chineseteachers in Dongsheng district grow continuously through new curriculum.While in the process of teaching, there are some problems in showing theirteaching ability. Some problems even adversely affect students to learnChinese better. As a result, it lows these Chinese teachers’ teaching quality.Based on this situation, it is essential to do a research on their teaching ability.The aim of this paper is to study primary school Chineseteachers’teaching ability. Though questionnaire, observation and literature, itsupports the idea that teachers’ teaching ability includes both commonteaching ability and specific teaching ability on Chinese language. Accordingto teaching procedures, this paper gives a list of components of teachers’ability. When analysing and inducing problems, I referred to some first-handinformation, such as, interviews, class observations, lesson plans, competitionfeedback, and so on. After doing this research, I find out five main problems.Teachers cannot understand textbooks correctly so that they cannot design aperfect plan. Some teachers need to train their basic skills. Some teachers donot rethink themselves after class. Some teachers have no awareness ofself-learning. Some teachers can’t do teaching research. There are two reasonscausing these problems. First, subjectively, most teachers have no strongdesire to improve themselves. Second, objectively, there are less trainingplans for teachers. This paper puts forward six suggestions. First, we should adhere to carryon basic skill training. Second, we should enforce to train primary schoolChinese teachers.One way is to change the traditional training method. Wecan introduce some new methods,such as combining research and training,doing research on classes, doing specific research, establishing cooperationexperimental area, sending teachers to others schools, inviting experts,studying with other schools. Third, master and apprentice twinning projectshould paly an active role. Forth, we should encourage primary schoolChinese teachers to do basic research, combining research and teaching. Fifth,we should encourage them to educate themselves. The last one is advocatingbeing a childcare and passionate teacher.In the process of writing, I drew lessons from previous experience, studiedthe facts, and analysed existing problems. According to my analysis, I putforward some suggestions. I hope it can be helpful.
