Nowadays, with more and more pressure caused by low employment for students of higher institutions across our country, how to strengthen graduates’ competitiveness in finding a good job and how to address the difficulty in finding a good job have been driving attention from our whole society. On one hand, our students panic for that they do not have a reasonable method to hunt for a good job and they have a thought that they will not be employed. On the other hand, some of small and medium-sized enterprises worry that there will be some difficulties in getting more and more suitable employees. To some degree,this dislocation contradiction between supply and demand is a consequence of most students’vague personal career planning. Therefore, a systematic, correct personal career planning for students of higher institution will contribute to students’comprehensive qualities so as to strengthen their competitiveness in finding a good job, and employment outcome of higher institutions especially those of minority higher institutions. Meanwhile it will pave the way for higher institutions’sustainable and harmonious development and maintaining social stability.Regarding Yanbian University as the research center, in this essay, first it will tell us the ultimate goal and the importance of this subject.And it will introduce us the historical development of foreign personal career planning and the status quo of our national personal career planning. The research methods we apply here are:bibliography, survey, field work and ethnology.Meanwhile this essay gives us a introduction of concepts and theories of personal career planning and the status quo of personal career planning of Yanbian University. It also expounds the concept of students’employability. Through a survey of graduates’employment situation in 2007,2008 and 2009 of Yanbian University, it points out the shortcomings and the advantages of the students’employability. Then it puts forward nine effective measures to improve students’employability. The focus of this essay are to form suitable personal career planning both for students and higher institutions from students themselves and higher institutions employment administrative department’s point of view and to give priority to higher institutions’instructive performance due to the explicit national characteristic of Yanbian University, and to come up with effective measures to improve our students’employability in accordance with students’feature.The kernel points in measures to strengthen our students’employability are to found a systematically normative and overall service organization to establish personal career planning guidance lessons that is suitable for students of Yanbian University, and to take advantage of resources from every walks of life efficiently to give an excellent lessons to our students on vocational guidance and personal career planning in order to enhance our students’comprehensive quality.
