Comparative Research On The Mode Of Land-lost Peasants’ Social Security

With the development of social economy and constantly external expansion of cities, life anddevelopment of huge numbers of the peasants who have lost their farmland are facing a severe test.From all areas, only the minority of peasants losing farmland can share the same social securitywith urban residents. Having lost their land, most peasants, at the edge of social security, can enjoyneither land security nor the same social security as citizens, which seriously affects thesustainability of their livelihood. Therefore, to ensure all rights of land-lost peasants and make theireconomic income and the level of security improved, the Party and government has made a seriesof policies and measures, solving some problems efficiently. However, owing to the differences oflocal policies, levels of economic development, compensation standards of land expropriation andmodes of economic development, land-lost peasants’ income disagreed with economicdevelopment. What’s more, mass incidents that result from some problems of land expropriation,compensation, housing settlement and re-development are gradually increasing, resulting in socialcontradictions become so acute to affect economic development and social stability. As a result,the problem of land-lost peasants’ social security have become a prominent problem that influenceseconomic development, social stability and the structure of harmonious society, a major andrealistic problem which needs to be solved as soon as possible in front of a government at all levels.Using the Method of Reviewing and Analyzing Documents and comparative analysis, basedon properly dealing with the related concepts of peasants’ social security and policies, this thesisobjectively analyses and compares the present situation of peasants’ social security and thecharacteristics of current peasants’ social security modes. Moreover, taking examples of theexperience of current peasants’ social security modes in our country, the thesis positively exploresand builds a proper modes of peasants’ social security, and pointedly comes up with some feasiblesupporting measures to solve problems of peasants’ social security.This thesis mainly studies land-lost peasants’ social security modes on the following aspects.First, some important concepts are defined in the process of study and analyses the present situation of peasants’ social security. Then, it summarizes the respective characteristics of four modes ofpeasants’ social security in practice. What’s more, by means of analyzing and comparing in threeaspects, that is, operational mechanisms of land-lost peasants’ social security, raising money andgoal orientation, it points out some problems in the policy of land-lost peasants’ social security.Finally, it puts forward an idea of setting up land-lost peasants’ social security modes andcompletes supporting measures in land-lost peasants’ social security. Last section summarizes theconcrete content that the thesis has been discussing and points out some disadvantages andsomething to be discussed further.
