Research On Path Dependence Of Resource-based Industries In Regional Development

Resource is not only the material basis for human survival, but also the importantguarantee for the sustained and sound development of the national economy. Now theresource industries in china are facing severe survival problem under the market economy.To study the resources industry, is the harmonious development of the community’s needs,is the transformation of the economic development mode of needs, but also the necessityto the development of resources industry itself.In order to meet the needs of industrialization and rapid economic development,China has adopted a national policy of high-intensity development of natural resources,and then relied on resource endowments, and formed a large number of resourcedevelopment companies since liberation. In order to support industrial development, aswell as to the survival, security and development of groups, social functions of industrialconcentration also gradually improved, and then through mining concentration town, eventhe town into the city, formed the definition of resource-based cities in China. The rise ofresource-based cities provided significant support to the development of the nationaleconomy; large-scale exploitation and utilization of the resources become to decide fateof national economic development of industry in the early industrialization of the country.Resources industry, however, has two significant characteristics: on the one hand,high dependence on resources; the other hand, the increasing trend of resource extractioncosts. As non-renewable resources, they will inevitably go to dry up, and the speed of thedepletion will go faster while the development level go higher. In this case, the resourceindustry development determines the development of resource-based cities.Currently, many resource-based cities in China are heading for a recession or on thebrink of recession, in order to prevent the further deterioration of the situation, the mostfundamental measure is to achieve a smooth transition of the resource-based industries.Therefore, carrying out research on transformation of resource-based industry under thecondition of market economy is necessary.
