With the development of non-grain growing and non-farming in the developed areas, food security center constantly shifts to the main grain-producing regions. According to China statistical Yearbook from2001to2010, we can see that food grain production increases every year, and the share of grain output in main grain-producing areas of the national grain output is above71%. Per capita food consumption of the main grain-producing areas except Hubei and Sichuan is above the national per capita consumption of food. Food commodity rate of the grain-producing regions with the exception of Sichuan and Hunan is higher than the national average commercial rate. However, with the acceleration of the process of industrialization in China in recent years, the main grain-producing areas also appeared non-grain growing and non-farming phenomena, particularly in Sichuan, Henan, Hunan, and other provinces, there appear a large number of migrant workers. At present, China’s main grain-producing areas in the real sense, has also changed. Take Sichuan province for example, in recent years, its food commodity rate has been lower than the national average. Its overall food production is less than the desired, slight surplus in rice and potatoes, and there are a lot of gaps in corn and wheat. Farmers’grain crops management is a rational choice after considering its own conditions and external factorsWith the speeding up of the process of industrialization in China, the behavior of Grain farmers in grain-producing regions will have different degrees of change. As grain revenue is relatively lower than non-food and non-agricultural income, the farmers having engaged in food production in rural areas or in other non-grain areas will choose to get engaged in non-grain management or non-farming industries. What’s more, some even get engaged in part-time farming. This thesis is mainly based on the context of the industrialization process to study the impact of farmer income structure changes on land investment behavior using practical survey data of farmers in Jilin province. Farmers under different income structures have different levels of part-time farming, which will affect farmers’land input behaviors. Moreover, farmers’ land inputs behavioral changes will affect the food production efficiency, whose changes will affect China’s grain supply, thereby affecting the State’s grain security. The net income per peasant in Jilin province shows a rising trend, but there are still some gaps with other provinces. Net operating income still dominates of the total household income, but the proportion declines slowly; the proportion of farmers’income from wage and salary rises slowly; the proportion of farmers’ transfer income rise slowly. The appearance of those characteristics mainly due to the increase of all sources of income, changes in the prices of agricultural products, national agriculture benefiting policy, and many other reasons. Secondly, the thesis analyzes the current situation and the characteristics of farm-land investment in Jilin province, which show a decrease in agricultural labor input and a increase in effective irrigation area and sown areas of major crops. In addition, total power of agricultural machinery, agricultural fertilizer and rural electricity consumption keep increasing. Such characteristics mainly due to the improvement of farmers’ enthusiasm for grain production increase of State subsidies and promotion of the agricultural modernization process.Using survey data to analyze the effects of farmers’ income structure on land investment behaviors, we find that with the changes of the farmers’income structure, peasants’non-agricultural income keep rising and with the deepening of by-business degree, farmers’ willingness to subcontract and sustainably invest in farmland keeps falling down. Many part-time farmers are often motivated by self-interest and unwilling to increase sustainable inputs into farmland. They only focus on immediate interests instead of focusing on the sustainable development of agriculture, which, not only results in the decline in soil quality, but also affects the agricultural production. With the analysis of land use efficiency in different types of farmers, we find that certain degree part-time farming can help farmers improve the efficiency of land use, however, when part-time farming level exceeds a certain level, farmers’land use efficiency will appear downward trend, declining of the farmers’land use efficiency will affect agricultural production, which in turn will affect the food security of the country. To ensure national food security, we must protect the interests of farmers whose income mainly relies on agriculture, accelerate transference of the right to use rural land and transfer surplus rural labor, develop appropriate scale operation, foster professional farmers, thus ensuring agricultural production and the State’s food security.
