A company’s prosperity depends on its management of which vitality comesfrom the corporate culture. As a joint venture between Sinopec and Shell, YueyangSinopec and Shell Coal and Gasification Co., LTD hopes to solve the current problemof enterprise development and fully play the role of corporate culture to stimulatemanagement vigor and guide enterprise development through construction ofcorporate culture system.Using investigation and statistical analysis, combined with qualitative andquantitative analysis, this thesis analyses and evaluates the current situation ofcorporate culture of this company, and pointes out the contents need to be changed,and designs the corporate culture system of the spiritual layer and the symbols layerrespectively, and puts forward the principles, procedures and matching measures forcorporate culture changes. The author believes that only when attentions are paid tothe guidance and motivation effect of corporate culture can the unfavorable tendencyof ignoring corporate culture be changed and the problem of poor execution force andpoor sense of belonging be solved. As a result, the company will be able to graduallyget rid of the predicament of lack of funds and loss of talents. At the same time, thecompany will be able to establish harmonious management team and buildcompetitive advantage with corporate cultural, and eventually realize the vision ofmaking Dongting coal gasification project a model of Shell gasification technology inChina and making contribution to the sustainable development of clean and highefficient utilization of coal in China.The corporate culture predicament of this company reflects a deep crisis in theinternal management of a technology-leading company and it is also a puzzle that hasto be faced for a company frequently when its cultural competitive force comes intobeing. Hope this research on corporate culture be of helpful to other similarenterprises.
