Express industry is a kind of modern service industry which is both productive and consumptive. Along with China’s economic development, the improvement of the quality of national life and the rhythm of life being speeding up, express industry in China will receive further development. According to the information reported, even in the year2008when the economy situation was most seriously affected by the international financial crisis, express industry in China kept developing with the rate of26%which was significantly higher than the growth rate of the national economy of China. It is known that in2008the United States express company of top three had reached the annual turnover of140billion$and the profit of other industries which were driven by express industry had reached to900billion which was equal to7.2%of United States gross national product. Accordingly, the effect of express industry in China in the same year led to the economic development value to2.2trillion yuan. Although generally, the express industry in China shows a good momentum of development in recent years, but the development of the private express delivery companies as important constituents of the express delivery market in China which are still in the process of development has demonstrated a number of problems. In full awareness that the express industry is such an important member of the modern service industry, market factors affecting the competitiveness of China’s private express delivery companies are needed to be discussed in-depth. Therefore, this paper regarded the competitiveness of China’s private express delivery companies as the research object, combined the theory about the current theoretical research on enterprise competitiveness with the development of China’s private express delivery companies with the attempt to find new ideas for the development of China’s private express delivery companies. At the same time, this article collected a large amount of data, established coefficient matrix of relative indicators for qualitative and quantitative analysis which can make research findings more objectivity and credibility and overcome the ambiguity and subjectivity of text analysis.At the beginning of this article, this paper gave detailed analysis of the macro-environment of the private express delivery companies from the angle of economic environment, transport policy and technical environment. Immediately the paper selected four representative samples to make a detailed introduction of their current development status、 manegement philosophy and so on.Secondly, on the basis of a detailed analysis of the typical development status of the four private companies, the paper had used the SWOT model as a theoretical support to research and explore the advantages, weaknesses, opportunities as well as the threats of private express delivery companies in China after which some market competitive strategies were come up with.Again, this paper select five express delivery companies as comparative study objects through the establishment of gray correlation model about competitive impact factors to measure competition strength of the five express delivery companies. Through the analysis of the results of the study, the proposals were put forward which urged that private express delivery companies in China should pay more attention to get the economy scale and focus on the enhancement of service.
