The soft texture, gentler gloss and smooth tactility of the silk fabric and the favorable wearbehaviors such as, excellent,hygroscopicity, chromaticity and air-conductivity make itself lovedby people. However, the ordinary silk knitted fabrics has some shortcomings. The wrinkleresistance and the fixity of the silk products are not very good. Therefore, how to improve theperformances of the knitted silk fabrics to satisfy people’s needs has become the hot button in thesociety. Knitted high-twist silk fabrics as the new production, which is purely real silk and canimprove the performances of the silk fabric has gradually come to people’s notice. However, thein-depth study of the knitted high-twist silk fabrics is seldom, particularly lacking in the researchof the performance and style property of this kind fabrics. Therefore, the systemic study of itswearability and style property will have great significance.The paper mainly research on the wearability and style of knitted high-twist silk fabrics.Design and weave15pieces samples with different parameters including finishing fabrics andmixture fabrics and analysis the basic mechanical property, visual style, tactile style and thethermal-wet comfort of each sample. At the last stage, the method of fuzzy mathematicalanalysis was applied to evaluate the comprehensive performance of all the samples. Theconclusions were as following:(1)Compared with the wrinkle-resistant finishing fabrics, the knitted high-twist silk fabricshave the same properties in wrinkle resistance and shape preservation aspects. By using themethod of grey clustering analysis, the thermal-wet comfort of fabrics were evaluated. Theresults indicated that the knitted high-twist silk fabrics’ thermal-wet comfort properties is betterthan the ordinary silk knitted fabrics and the mixture fabrics(2)KES-FB handle tester wad used to measure16items of mechanical properties of thefabrics, and the HV values of the15samples were worked out to evaluate the comprehensiveproperties of the fabrics’ tactile style. The experimental results indicated that the knittedhigh-twist silk fabrics have better smoothness and softness.(3)By the method of factor analysis, six indexes affecting the fabric visual style aresimplified as two main factors. By using the SPSS cluster analysis software, the15pieces ofsamples were classified into different categories according to the two main factors. The results showed that knitted high-twist silk fabrics’ glossy texture and drape texture is not as good as theuntwisted fabrics, but better than the fabrics knitted with medium twist yarn.(4)Twelve performances indexes including fabric wrinkle resistance, fuzz resistance areevaluated by using the method of fuzzy comprehensive evaluation. The results showed thatcomparing to the wrinkle-resistant finishing fabrics and mixture fabrics the knitted high-twistsilk fabrics have the best comprehensive performance.In this paper, we focus on the research and analysis of the knitted high-twist silk fabrics’wearability and style, and find a good way to solve the improve the ordinary silk knitted fabrics’comprehensive performance. Through this research we have a more comprehensiveunderstanding of this new kind fabrics, which improving the added value of silk fabric andexpanding the silk fabrics’ application areas. This research also have positive meaning forenterprises in their production and new product development.
