With the rapid development of computer technology and network technology, theinformatization of the Architecture Engineering Construction (AEC) industry iscontinuously improving and the extensive production mode of the AEC industry is alsochanging at the same time. BIM technology is one important means to achieve the AECinformatization. BIM technology has developed only a few decades so far, even thoughBIM technology has been adopted by practitioners quickly in the whole world, the rateof the adoption is still not as soon as anticipated.Especially for our country, BIM technology is only in its infancy. Apart from theAEC’s extensive production mode, technology itself maturity and enterprisesmanagement risk, the BIM technology adoption of the practitioners is another issue weshould pay attention. This paper attempts to study the adoption of BIM technology issuefrom this perspective. The subjective factors like cognition and attitude of the potentialusers of BIM technology has important influence on the adoption. This paper will use ITadoption theories to study this issue.First of all, this paper summarizes the existing research achievement of previousscholars and introduces the development process of IT adoption theories, on this basis, certain assumptions are proposed and the BIM technology adoption model is established. The variable of task technology matching is introduced into the Unified Theory ofAcceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT) model in this paper. The questionnaireabout model variables is designed to collect data by measuring scale way and153validquestionnaires were collected.According to he collected sample data, reliability analysis and validity analysis ofthe sample data are conducted. Then goodness of fit of the model and relatedhypotheses are tested. According to the software’s operating results, some adjustmentsare made to the original structure of the model and the social influence is excluded inthe final model. The modified model has reached a satisfactory level. Finally, according to this final BIM technology adoption mode, this paper conductsanalysis and discussion in-depth about the four key variables which are PerformanceExpectancy, Effort Expectancy, Facilitation Conditions and Task Technology Matching.some reference observations are given on how to improve construction BIM technologyadoption issues.
