As the leading machinery of asphalt pavement construction, asphalt paver is used widelyin urban roads, highways, docks, large parking lot and so on. The start-up process is one ofthe more complex conditions in paver operation process, the quality problems such asindentation, crack, flatness declining and the smoothness decreased mostly occur in thestart-up process. Therefore, the study of paver’s start-up control parameters is of greattheoretical and application value for increasing the quality of construction.In the paper, with the researching object of LTU900A asphalt paver, the start-upprocess’s kinematics and dynamics equations of driving hydraulic system, scraper conveyingsystem, spiral feeding system and vibrating system are established. The key parameters ofimpact and measure the start-up performance are discussed, the relationships of the variousparameters are established. By comparing the dynamic response of each system’s parametersin different signal, the start-up control schemes based on slope control are given. The start-upperformance of each system and the whole machine is experimented, by analyzing the testdata, the working pressure, impact pressure, start-up sequence and time interval of eachhydraulic system are got. The model of the prototype’s operating system based on AMESimsimulation software is established, the dynamic response of the pressure impact, motor speed,acceleration and start-up distance of collaborative start-up in the existing control signal aresimulated, the correctness of the simulation model is verified. The optimization scheme of theprototype’s start-up control is provided, the dynamic response of the optimized scheme indifferent ramp control signal is simulated, and the result shows that the optimized scheme isfeasible.
