Objective To investigate the infectious status of ureaplasma urealyticum (hereinafter referred to as UU) and chlamydia trachomatis (hereinafter referred to as CT) among female infertile patients in Weihai so as to approach the correlation between the etiology of female infertility and the infection of UU and CT.Method731female infertile patients, who had visited the Reproductive Medicine Clinic of Weihai Maternal and Child Health Hospital in2013, were selected as a fertile group. And200healthy women, who had had babies and had taken their physical examinations in the Medical Examination Center in the same year, were chosen accordingly as a control group. Then, their cervical secretions were collected as samples used for the quantitative detection of UU-DNA and CT-DNA by means of real-time fluorescence quantitative PCR (TaqMan PCR).Result (1)The etiological analysis of infertility:Among731infertile cases, the number of patients suffering from tubal infertility accounts for the most with49.7%; the amount of patients tolerating ovulatory disorder, endometriosis, immune infertility and others accounts for32.4%,5.6%,8.2%and32.4%respectively.(2) The infectious status of UU and CT:The infection rates of UU, CT and UU+CT in the infertile group are53.9%(394/731),29.8%(218/731) and12.6%(92/731) separately, while they are only24%(48/200),17.5%(35/200) and5%(10/200) in the control group. And there are significant differences (P<0.001) when comparing each part of the two groups correspondingly.(3) The age distribution:Among731infertile cases, the highest infection rates of UU, CT and UU+CT appear in the26-to-30-year-old age group that are25.2%,15.3%and7.3%respectively; those that appear in the31-to-35-year-old age group and take the second place are16.8%,12.2%and4.4%; those that appear in the20-to-25-year-old age group are3.4%,0.8%and0.4%; those that appear in the36-to-40-year-old age group are6.3%,1.1%and0.4%; those that appear in the41-to-45-year-old age group are2.2%,0.4%and0.1%. Conclusion The positive rate of UU, CT and UU+CT among female infertile patients is significantly higher than that of normal women in Weihai, which shows that there is some correlation between the infections and female infertility. So the routine laboratory examinations of UU, CT infection are necessary for the diagnosis of female infertility.
