Chinese character teaching in teaching Chinese as a foreign language always occupy the important position, if you want to learn Chinese as well as the further understanding of Chinese culture, you must first learn Chinese characters. However, in the process of foreigners learning Chinese, Chinese characters has become a major bottleneck in their study. So it needs to be an effective、immediate Chinese characters teaching method to solve this important problem. Therefore, this paper studies the currently popular in the foreign Chinese character teaching is two kinds of teaching methods:parts-teaching and the teaching of Chinese character component, from the cognition of Chinese characters, the Chinese character system characteristic, the scope of the three angles of them are compared. Through the comparison found:the two kinds of teaching methods have their own advantages and disadvantages. The teaching focus on internal characteristics of Chinese characters, Chinese character component conforms to the rule of long-term memory and cognitive characteristics of adult second language acquisition, and it is suitable for the student of Chinese characters’ base to learn Chinese characters; Parts teaching focuses on Chinese characters structure form, and more suitable for teaching Chinese characters form and Chinese information processing, and analysis the components comply with short-term memory capacity, so that the students who will take care of the Chinese characters form a preliminary sense, lay a foundation for learning pronunciation and meaning. If everything is conform to the characteristics of Chinese character teaching and the rule of the adult second language acquisition, teaching is obviously better than the teaching of Chinese character component parts. So, on this basis put forward its own Suggestions:the future of the foreign Chinese character teaching should go the way of independent innovation, the Chinese character component and parts in teaching and other teaching method combining the advantages of Chinese characters, and form is given priority to with Chinese character component teaching method of teaching comprehensive type Chinese characters. I hope in the future Chinese teachers and experts pay more attention for foreign student learning Chinese characteristic as well as suitable Chinese material writing. Enable students to understand Chinese characters from the essence, to learn Chinese characters, and learn Chinese.
