This is a translation project report on Highbush blueberry Production Guide. This bookis written by the state stations for the study of berry crop and some universities. The maincontent of this report is divided into four parts: Part One is the translation project description,including project background, objectives and significance. Part Two is the background of thesource text, including main content and linguistic features of the source text, and evaluationand review of the source text. The third part is about the preparatory work beforetranslation,time arrangement, difficulties arose in translation, and the translation skills andmethods used in the process of translation. Difficulties in translation mainly include threeaspects: difficult vocabulary, difficult expression and sentences. Based on the basic principleof EST translation, that is, Literal translation first and free translation second, the maintranslation methods used are literal translation, free translation, division, transliteration andaddition, and conversion. Underpinned by Nida’s Functional Equivalence Theory, the reporterargued and emphasized the importance of “Functional Equivalence” in EST translation. Partfour is about the lessons, implications and problems to be solved in the translation project.
