Since reform and opening policy has been set up for30years,the development ofour national economy raised rapidly. All of these achievements have beencontributed by the talents from every field. So talents cultivation is an importantmission during the new period of our country’s development. At present, we not onlyneed the research elites, but also eager to get technical pragmatic talents. Duringrecent years, the national government attaches more and more importance tovocational education, especially in the aspect of teachers’ cultivation. Therefore moreand more teachers have been sent to foreign universities for learning advancededucational concepts and specialized knowledge. At the same time, this situationprovides opportunity of employment and practice for interpreters.My research is the practice summary of group interpreters. The site of my practiceactivity is in the Assumption University of Thailand. My mission can be separatedinto two parts, one is formal interpretation for opening and closing ceremony, theother is escort interpretation for groups. From this experience, I have got profoundawareness in the aspect of preparation work before interpreting, the problem andsolution of consecutive interpretation, and nonstandard English.In the aspect of preparation work before interpreting, the author’s knowledge staysfor the theoretical plane. This practice supply me an opportunity to test whetherpreparation work effective. According to author’s knowledge prepare a completepreparation work, so that I have got benefit from that. Author boosts confidence tofinish this mission. That is the profile that preparation work bringing to me, andenhance interpreter’s confidence and specialized knowledge.The second aspect of summary is about the problem and solution of consecutiveinterpretation. When the author found the same point of consecutive interpreting and simultaneous interpreting, author uses the common solution in simultaneousinterpreting “syntactic linearity”. Through using some strategies such as report,summary, adding and so on, all of these will make sentences smooth, logic, clear,easily understand, and finally reach a better interpretation result.The last aspect is dealing method of Thai-English. During solving the problem period,with the help of preparation work of Thai-English, the author smoothly managed theinterpretation work.Although it’s not a long time practice for me, it leaves a memorable impression. Theexperience has not only been a test for my study result of MTI, but also a drivingforce which encourages me to learn and accumulate theoretical knowledge andpractice experience continually. The author hopes to provide materials for thestudents of MTI, offer ideas for compiling teaching materials to enrich the contentsof class through this report.
