Taking a9-day consecutive interpreting for an enterprise training program as study subject, the report aims at analyzing interpreter’s preparation before, performance during, the characteristics of each part of, the difficulties the author encountered and relevant solutions during the work from the perspective of interpreting program on the whole.The report, furthermore, takes a profound analysis on one prominent feature of the task---ASEAN English phonetic varieties in the chapter of case analysis. In recent years, ASEAN English accent has increasingly attracted people’s attention thanks to the closer communications and exchanges in the fields of politics, economy, culture and education between China and ASEAN countries. The current researches on ASEAN English varieties are relatively independent from each other since the researches mainly concentrate on individual country’s English varieties. By analyzing ASEAN English phonetic varieties, the report is intended to find out effective ways to overcome interpreting obstacles posed by the accent.At last, the report comes to conclusions as follows:First, sufficient preparation is crucial to deal with complex and changing situation in interpreting process. Second, interpreter’s attitude is subject to be neutral and is not supposed to involve personal quotient because of being employed by one party. Third, ASEAN English has experienced obvious varieties which are manifested in the shift of voiceless consonant to voiced consonant, decrease of vowels, back shift of the stress and clear suffix phenomenon. Difficulties in understanding ASEAN English are attributable to all above-mentioned English varieties.
