This report takes the first-time consecutive interpreting practice of the interpreter for instance.The Mayor of Baoding met with the South Holland Delegation on Sep.27 th,2016 at the Power Valley Hotel,Baoding.The interpreter worked for the Chinese side.Baoding and South Holland have been in a good relationship for years.In this meeting,the two sides exchanged extensive ideas on several fields,like agricultural facilities.This practice report consists of task description,process description,preparations for interpreting,case analysis and summary.Wherein,Chapter One is the introduction of the task and puts forward the requirements.Chapter Two is a review of the task,which analyzes the challenges and assesses her performances in an objective way from various feedbacks.Chapter Three illustrates the whole process of preparations,comprising preparations for the background information,vocabulary and equipments and other stuff.Chapter Four is the core of the report.By comparing the source text and the rendition,the interpreter explores viable methods such as predicting,judging,sorting,supplement and association,and structures the rendition reflecting the grammar,semantics and discourse by deverbalization and multi-tasking.Besides,it also covers the problems facing the interpreter in this case like tension and omissions in interpretation,and then discloses a conclusion of inadequate preparation and inexperience,so as to find the possible solutions to them.How to quickly process the information in the source language is key to the success of consecutive interpreting(CI).On the Basis,the interpreter makes comprehensive and extensive analysis to lay a solid foundation for the future by looking through the interpreting as a whole process.
