A Report On The Translation Of Principles Of International Internet Law

This is a project report on the translation of the Principles of InternationalInternet Law by Prof. Robert Uerpmann-Wittzack published in the German LawJournal in2010, in which the professor innovatively advanced the concept of theinternational internet law, laying down the foundation of the formation anddevelopment of it.The reason why the translator chose such an article as the source text for hertranslation project was that it is of great significance and operability. Throughcarrying out the project, the translator gradually found out what she finally gained andwhere her weakness laid though two years graduate program study was drawing to theend, and thus giving her much insight with which she could improve herself. At themean time, the translator really wanted to introduce the international internet law toher people, hoping it would encourage the research work in relevant areas. Bearing inmind the reader’s response theory, the translator tried hard and finally carried throughthe project of translation.The translation report consists of five parts. The first part is an introduction tothe project which briefs its background, objectives and significance. Part two centerson the informative materials of the source text while elaborating the life of its author,its main contents and some analyses of the text. Further, the reader’s response theoryis also presented here as the guidance theory for the translation project. Part Three, themain one of the report, devotes much to translation skills and illustrations ofdifficulties met in the process of translation. Part Four is the conclusion whilesummarizing the experiences gained and listing the problems to be solved in thefuture.
