After decades in China, each Chinese short-term intensive project has his good points. The teaching mode has developed to personalized mode adapting to their characteristic of the project from the initial Mingde patterns gradually. Mode from single evolves into diversification, explains Chinese short-term intensive project has broad prospects, and also reflects Chinese are praised highly by many foreigners in the continuous development of the world economy today. Taking this opportunity, the Chinese short-term intensive project is vigorous. However, everything has two sides.In the short-term Chinese teaching field, driven by interests, there will be the low quality Chinese short-term intensive project. This paper aims to explore what kind of effective teaching mode of Chinese short-term intensive project should be by checking the United States Columbia University Chinese summer program (short for CIB), with a view to the field of domestic teaching reference.The teaching object of Chinese short-term intensive project is the mother tongue for foreigners than Chinese, many foreign students. In Chinese environment, the immersion teaching as the basis, using a variety of teaching methods, the students’ reading and writing will be strengthen. The teaching goal is to train them to listen and speak well, and can communicate with Chinese on daily in the short term. Our short-term Chinese teaching has got considerable development. Synthesis of the existing literature, research and teaching practice, China’s short-term Chinese teaching can be summarized as follows:in4to20weeks, in order to improve the Chinese listening and speaking ability,teaches by strengthening the crash means, appropriate teaching material and the set of characteristic classes.Most Chinese short-term intensive project use "Ming De mode ". In order to study this kind of teaching, we need to find a "Ming De mode " project as a model. This paper regards CIB project as the research model, and the teaching and student questionnaire are for the research data.The results of this study are:1. through personal experience to obtain first-hand information, the CIB project from the selection of teachers to students, and teaching part are described amply.2, this paper focuses on the analysis of the CIB project teaching practice questions, including not only the teacher’s questions in class, also a student’s question.3, according to the questionnaire, we can objectively and pertinently analyze whether the CIB project has students ideal teaching environment, more important is to explore whether the project can really achieve the purpose of short-term intensive Chinese.
