Study On Preposition In "Er Pai"

"Er Pai" was written in the years of Chon Zhen king during the period of the end of Ming Dynasty. It is the first novel volumes which is written by the author himself ,also is the represtative works of the short novel during the end of Ming Dynasty .It reflects the grammar of Chinese on first half of the 17 century basically.The system of the preposition in "Er Pai" is good in synchronic level ,so some characteristics of preposition in the same times can be partly reflected to research it .the preposition in it is important because it forms a connecting link between the preposition in the Middle Ancient Chinese and in diachronic level .The usage of some prepositions in "Er Pai" is more development than it in the Middle Ancient Chinese .and the usage of some preposition in Modern Chinese can be found the clue in"Er Pai" ,so it will be significant to study the preposition in "Er Pai" in order to research the preposition in the same times and development of preposition .The paper enumerates most of the prepositions in the book, and gets eight kinds from over 45 prepositions : Preposition for execution ,preposition for passivity, preposition for location time and place ,preposition for purpose and reasons ,preposition for manner instrument and condition ,preposition for comparison and metaphor ,preposition for participation, preposition for excluding .Through the separate analyze on quality and amount, we try to acquire the degree and aspect of grammaticalization .We find that the kind of the preposition in PAI is more definite and particular ,as "yin"is often used as reason or cause ,"wei"as purpose .the usage of "yu,shi,ru ,yu "are different .and the usage of prepositions is more and more complicated ,for example :the complication of "bei" sentence. The most of prepositions can be followed by "zhe.le" ,as"yizhe,zhaozhe ,chaozhe ,juzhe ,kaozhe,weizhe , chengzhe "and "chule ".In the respect of extrinsic form ,the disyllable preposition is the trend :the two prepositions which have the same meaning combine into a new preposition,as "yutong, dacong,zicong ".
