Mandarin fever has fastened the trend of learning Chinese. As the first country to which China send Chinese teachers, the Philippines has made a big progress in the teaching of Chinese. Combining the background of the teaching of Chinese with the current situation in Philippines, this thesis will take the elementary and middle school teaching of Chinese in Philippines as the example to explore and research the educating in elementary and middle school classes with the task-based teaching method. Part1in this thesis will mainly explain the value, current situation and methods of the research. Part2will talk about the basic components of task-based teaching method and also the accomplishment of the research, which will lay the theoretical foundation of this thesis. There are the review of the teaching history in Philippines and the analysis of the current situation in part3. By designing the real teaching process, part4will analyses and make a conclusion of the successful usage of task-based teaching method in the elementary and middle school classes.
