A Research Of The Correlation Of Prisoners’ Social Adaption, Psychological Capital, Coping Style And Its Intervention

As the rising of recidivism rate in recent years, social adaptation of theprisoners is receiving more and more attention from society. As a special social group, the living environment of prisoners is alienated and their free is entangled.Due to with the multiple effects, social adaptation level of prisoners is generally lower than normal people, combined with the level of social adaptation is one of the important indexes in judging rehabilitation personnel to recrime.So to study social adaptability of prisoners and improve their social adaptation is an effective means of prevention to crime.This study first probe into the psychological capital structure of prisoners,on the basis of previous research, we explore the correlation between social adaption and psychology captial, coping style,and expiore an effective intervention method to improve prisoner sacial adaption.we designed three studies:Study one based on summarizing the documents, investigating of open-ended questionnaire, visiting the prisoners and before positive psychological capital questionnaire,we probe into the psychological capital structure of prisoners;in study two,395prisoners was tested by questionnaires of social adaption questionnaire, positive psychology capital questionnaires and coping style scale(CSS), then explor the prisoners’ social adaption characters, at the same time this study anlyse the correlation between social adaption, positive psychology capital and coping style; study three randomly selected20prisoners whose social adaption level is low from study two test results, divided into experimental group and control group.The experimental group recieved out group training, and the control group only daily edution.After two months,the two groups of prisoners’social adaption level was evaluateed.The main results of three studies are as follows:(1)Positive Psychological Capital questionnaires on this study was based on original questionnaire,and it had good degree of differentiation,as well as reliability and validity indexes meet the requirements of psychometrics, which could be a qualified questionnaire to measure prisoners’ psychological capital.(2) The Positive Psychology Capital questionnaire was constituted by the five dimensions as hope, optimistic, negative toughness, self-confident and restore toughness.(3) Prisoners’ social adaption has significant differences on the time already served, family economic status, education level and marital status; and it was opposite to age, and prison terms.(4) Social adaptation has significantly positive correlation with psychological capital and positive coping styles;but not have significantly negative correlation with negative coping styles.(5) Psychological capital has significant main effect on social adaptation, but the main effect of coping styles on social adaptation is not significant, the same as the interaction between them.(6) Psychological capital has good prediction effect-on social adaptation, the specially hope, optimism and negative toughness three dimensions. Positive coping styles can’t predict social adaption, but the negative coping style is a good negative predictor to social adaptation.(7) After group counseling, The measurements of pre-test and post-test of the experimental group have significant differences after group counseling.At the same time the measurments of post-test between exprimental group and control group has significant differences too.The results indicate that group couseling has better intervention effect.
