As far as the tourism industry is concerned, on one hand, the tourism resource isnot exclusive to the public; on the other hand, the tourism market shares a characteristicof competition. So it is necessary for the government to manage the tourism industry.China’s tourism industry has developed greatly since the new century and it has alreadybecome the leader of the third industry. The tourism industry in Wuzhong District,Suzhou City developed earlier and by now its construction of tourist attractions has aconsiderable scale. The proportion of tourism industry in Wuzhong District’s economicaggregate is increasing year by year. In2012, Wuzhong District packed to apply for5Atourists spots successfully and it has the advantages of Taihu Lake, which brought a newopportunity to the development of the tourism industry in Wuzhong District. However,compared to the surrounding tourism industry, the gap still exists. The scale in WuzhongDistrict is relatively small and the level of the development is still low. Furthermore,there are only some single tourism products and its market is still dysplasia.This paper carries on a discussion about the effect that the Chinese government hason the development of tourism industry. By using the relative experiences from theforeign government for reference and combining the reality of the tourism industry inWuzhong District, the paper points out the existing problems in the development of thetourism industry and puts forward a clear functions of the government in thedevelopment of tourism industry. That is, first, adjust the strategies timely, unifiedscientific planning and promote the healthy and orderly development of the tourismindustry. Second, enforce laws and regulations and strengthen the management of theindustry. Third, collect and disseminate the demand information on tourism market andcorrect market bias. Fourth, accept the supervision of the public and provide the tourism enterprises and consumers with public products. Finally, strengthen cooperation anddevelop the integrated tourism industry. |
