It has been found that employee satisfaction affects the working efficiency of theemployees, the quality of work and the performance of institutions which are relatedto the development of an entire organization after a long-term study. However, thereare too many factors affect employee satisfaction, such as factors from the institutions,factors from the surrounding environment and factors from the employees themselves.The study of employee satisfaction is much earlier and profound at abroad than indomestic. As the importance of employee satisfaction has been gradually realizedafter the reform and opening-up of all kinds of social economic organizations, it isbegun to do the relevant exploration and research and try to analyze the critical factorsaffecting employee satisfaction in order to develop a scientific and reasonableimprovement strategy. The study employee satisfaction has being done by academia athome and abroad, but the research of employee satisfaction in public institutionslooks relatively fewer, especially in public institutions of geological exploration.Research in factors affecting employee satisfaction is described at home andabroad in this paper, as well as taken an example of the study of employee satisfactionin BD public institutions of geological exploration. The questionnaire of employeesatisfaction has been revised and compiled appropriately after the investigation andanalysis of organization structure, working status and human resource status in thiscase. The survey scope involves all positions, education backgrounds, ages and so onthrough the ways of questionnaire and interview. Based on analysis of the results ofthe investigation, the countermeasures and suggestions are proposed combined withthe special status and talent growth in public institutions of geological exploration. Byanalyze and summarize all kinds of factors affecting employee satisfaction in publicinstitutions of geological exploration, it is known that the dominant factors areorganizational commitment, income distribution, management system and culturalconstruction.
