Lu Xun’s literature works always play an important role in the middle school Chinese-teaching context and many of them have been selected into Chinese middle school textbooks. To popularize and inherit the spirits of works of Lu Xun becomes the main task to middle school Chinese language teachers as those works are of great significance to cultivating middle-school students’ personality. However, in the process of teaching, many teachers find it hard to teach the works of Lu Xun while the majority of students feel puzzled and hesitated to read his works.This paper attempts to summarize the dilemma that both teachers and students encounter in the classroom teaching context and tries to seek a feasible method to teach Lu Xun’s works by analyzing the present situation in teaching Luxun’s literature works. By reviewing how Lu Xun’s works are selected into textbooks in the past two decades, the paper highlights the status of Lu Xun’s works in Chinese contemporary literature and analyzes the causes of his works’obscurity, thus helping find solutions to material teaching. Meanwhile, some suggestions are offered in this paper from the aspects of selection, editing and teaching practice in hope that students can have a better understanding of Lu Xun and his literature works from multi-angles.
