Aging of population is a global challenge for all the countries of the world. At present, developed countries have already entered the aging society, China’s aging trend is becoming serious too, the number of disabled elderly is also growing. The statistics show that China’s current population of disabled elderly has already reached33million and it will continue to increasing in the future. Huge groups of disability elders, especially the totally disability elder groups whose needs has become increasingly prominent, like day-to-day activities, rehabilitation care, health care, and mental health. For a long time, home-based care is the major style of the Long-term care in China, but along with the parents of the first generation of only children coming into the old age, the family will be hard to bear the enormous pressure of Long-term care, the function of home care has unprecedented weakened, long-term care of disabled elderly has become an important social problem of our country.Based on the background of aging population, this paper tries to research the long-term care of disabled elderly in our country. The study found that there are some problems in the long-term care of the disabled elderly in China:the high cost of home care, shortage of resources of institutional care, the slow development of community care, lack of the professional pension nurses and social workers.In fact, these problems we’ve met have also been encountered in many developed countries. In deeply analyzing the actuality of the Long-term care in our country, this article also research and analysis the long-term care system in the United Kingdom, Japan and the United States, we found there are some places that we can learn in these three countries:First, they all have made a perfect legal framework. Secondly, their Long-term care is characterized with multi-service content and multi-service way. Thirdly, the three countries attached great importance to the professional training of human resources.Absorbing these precious experiences will be instructive to establish the Long-term care system in China. The paper will put forward countermeasures based on the study. First is to establish a funding mechanism in line with China’s national conditions. Second is to strengthen professional training of human resources. And third is to give full play to the multi-role of the family, government and society, emphasize the fusion of multi-care model, and finally realize holistic care of people-centered, demand-oriented.
