Supervision Model Of Social Work In Social Welfare Institutions

Social work supervision is not only an important part of social work education, is also an integral part of social work practice as well as an significant link in the management of social work services. This study selected a representative institutions in mainland China-Social Welfare Centre in Wuxi City as the research subject and through the analysis of its real needs in the development of social work at present, this paper pointed out the necessity of professional social work supervision in social welfare institutions. The paper studied the present situation of supervision by questionnaires, interviews and other research methods and in a systematical way, it analyzed the influence on institutions supervision mode from the aspects of organization goals, the administrative intervention, social work professional value, the supervision mode, the factors of supervisor etc.. It came to the conclusion that at the early stage of the development in social work, governments, institutions, colleges, universities and industries should establish the quartet linkage mechanism to urge the establishment of the effective supervision mode in the welfare agencies. In the linkage mechanism, institutions should attach importance to social work supervision, starting from their own needs and prompting the development of social work supervision in the industries. This research thinks that the internal supervision mechanism and expert supervision mode is more suitable to social work supervision for social welfare institutions in mainland China at the early stage of the development.
