Inviting educational leadership aims to help people get a positive self-experience, develop potential and achieve self-actualization. It firmly believes that people possess untapped potential in all areas of worthwhile endeavor and this potential can be best realized by people who are intentionally inviting with themselves and others personally and professionally.Inviting action works because all people have the needs and abilities of the self-determination of their own behavior, and individual behavior is influenced by the views of oneself, others, the world. So, democratic ethos, the perceptual tradition and self-concept theory constitute the major foundations of inviting educational leadership. Inviting actions refer to leaders’control over the quantity and quality of information by increasing positive information and reducing oppressive information to establish a inviting environment giving the feel of respect, trust, calls and motivation to summon the potential of happy members.Inviting educational leadership is also a humanistic theory which is concerned about human emotion and self-realization to help people to pursue individual and professional life more interesting and more meaningful. Meanwhile inviting educational leadership is a communicative theory which emphasize leaders’and followers’ positive interaction on the basis of equality and respect to build the relationship of "do-with". Such a relationship is conducive to enhance the sense of identity and responsibility and establish psychological contract between the members and organization to make members self-management. Inviting educational leadership achieves effective leadership by the invisible way of psychological contract.Inviting educational leadership absorbs nutrition from different disciplines and Humanistic Psychology,Symbolic Interactionism, Positive psychology,which provide ideological support for it. Meanwhile, inviting educational leadership is also the respond to the needs of society, which has a double value orientation of efficiency and ethics. On the one hand, it pursues high efficiency and the organizational goal. On the other hand, it pursues self-fulfillment and favorable experience of members.Pushing forward inviting actions focus on four aspects of individuals, relationships, school and social. Inviting oneself needs to form a positive self, and then manage experience intentionally. In this process, enjoying learning is crucial. Establishing a inviting relationship needs to build a platform based on care, trust, respect, purpose, optimism to communicate, interact, deal with conflict. Developing inviting school requires building inviting organizational system from five areas including people, places, policies, curriculum and constructing inviting organizational culture. Inviting school is not the end of inviting educational leadership, but a new starting point to develop a supportive external environment. The idea of inviting educational leadership should be extended to the community, school districts, social to promote the sustainable development of the school.
