The course for ideological and political education in higher vocational colleges is the main channel and camping ground for ideological and political education. It takes the task of carrying on the Marxism theoretical education to higher vocational college students. The important criterion which is used to judge whether the ideological and political education is successful is the effectiveness of the ideological and political education in higher vocational colleges. How to improve the effectiveness of ideological and political education has always been the problem which the higher vocational college teachers especially the ideological and political teachers face. It is also the issue that professors and scholars in this field have long been studying. So the research of the effectiveness of ideological and political education has the realistic value and theoretical significance. Based on the been-done researches on the effectiveness of ideological and political education, this thesis focuses on the investigation of several higher vocational colleges in Qingdao about the effectiveness of their ideological and political education and the current problems they have met. On the analysis of realistic reasons for the non-effectiveness of ideological and political education, this thesis strives to do some further study on these problems from new angles and by different methods, such as literature survey, social survey, observational survey and comparison method.The course for ideological and political education in higher vocational colleges is the main channel and camping ground for ideological and political education. On the analysis of realistic reasons for the non-effectiveness of ideological and political education, this thesis strives to do some further study on these problems from new angles and by different methods, such as literature survey, social survey, observational survey and comparison method.Based on the analysis and research, this paper gives a theoretical definition on the effectiveness of ideological and political courses in higher vocational colleges, and puts forward useful teaching methods to enhance the effectiveness of ideological and political education. The effectiveness of ideological and political theory course refers to the realistic effect and influence on shaping and cultivating college students’world view, outlook on life and values. It has positive characteristics to meet the mental growth need of college students and achieve their life goals. This thesis mainly studies how to strengthen and improve the effectiveness of ideological and political education in higher vocational college on four basic factors:educator, educate, teaching method and teaching environment. To improve the effectiveness of ideological and political theory education, teachers must change the teaching method of explaining text content to the method of promoting students’ individual all-round development by using Marxism theory; colleges must strengthen and improve teaching methods based on construction of textbooks, teachers’ mind changing, construction of teachers’ team, innovation of teaching method, and organization of leadership. Higher vocational colleges should take effective methods to bring the ideological and political teaching to a new standard. Upon the in-depth study, this thesis focuses on the way of innovation by putting forward evaluation and rewards&punishment system to the ideological and political theory education, in the hope that it may stimulate the effectiveness. Taking scientific measure of evaluation and rewards&punishment system is not only helpful to improve the teaching quality, but also helpful to enhance the pertinence and effectiveness of ideological and political theory courses in higher vocational colleges. It does not only conform to the fundamental purpose of the requirements of the Marxist theory education on ideological and political theory courses to higher vocational students, but also develop the inherent requirements of the higher vocational students’ ideological and moral quality.
