"Teachers’ participation in the decision-making"is not only the developmenttrends of modern democratic society, but also the standard measure of schoolmanagement democracy. It’s not only the focus of school management domain, butalso the topic of the whole education field must face up to. The current schoolmanagement--headmaster responsible system asks an urgent need in democraticdecision-making. So how to improve and build a decision-making system in whichall school members can participate becomes an important part of the improvement ofheadmaster responsible system.Based on a field-research in Gaotai county’s5rural junior middle schools, bymaking the integrated use of reference, survey and investigation, the thesis describesand analyzes the teachers’ participation in school decision-making, including thecommunication channels, degree, contents and the schoolmasters’ and teachers’attitude. Besides, the thesis provides the suggestions about improving the teachers’participation in school decision-making.The thesis consists of four parts:The first part: Introduction.It mainly explains the research origin, research aims,research meanings, literature review, research thinking and research methods.The second part: Analysis, which is about the result of questionnaire survey.Itdemonstrates the schoolmasters’ basic information, the teachers’ information, and theteachers’ intention, awareness and influencing factors, opportunity, approach, level ofsatisfaction, implementation situation about the teachers’ participation in schooldecision-making, and the rural teachers’ basic influence on participation indecision-making.The third part: Present situation, which is about the current situations of ruralteachers’ participation in school decision-making in Gaotai county.According to theresult of questionnaire survey, making clear the fact of rural teachers’ participating inschool decision-making, this dissertation will analysis from four factors as followed:the faultiness of system, schoolmasters’ decision-making culture influence, teachers’self attitude about join decision-making and school system’s affects.The forth part: Suggestions, which is about improving the rural teachers’participation in school decision-making in Gaotai county.This thesis will describeseveral suggestions according to management system improving, rural schoolmasters’management style changes, enhancing teachers’ participating consciousness,increasing teachers’self mastery, and also school system innovation.
