Track and field teaching is the foundation of school physical education inmiddle school, which has an important role in the development of physical andpsychological quality of the students. But with the development of society, thetraditional track and field’s content was too narrow, teaching organization single, lackof interest in the classroom, affects its proper function and role play, explore newforms of track and field teaching of meet the needs of the new era, the teaching modeand the method is known as one of the general orientation of is known as one of thegeneral orientation of physical education teachers.Especially since2000, Ministry ofnational education has awarded “Secondary school physical education and healthcurriculum”and “Health curriculum standard”, proposed the "health first" as theguilding ideology, and higher demands placed on high school physical education,teaching of new curriculum standards has undoubtedly provided a scientific guidingideology and theoretical basis to track and field teaching in middle school, it also putforward higher requirements on track and field teaching in middle school.This research based on the spirit of the new curriculum standard, reference anddraw on existing research findings, combined with local conditions in Lanzhou city, toinvestigate the situation of track and field teaching in middle school in Lanzhou city,and propose appropriate countermeasures, provides theoretical basis for the reform ofphysical education in middle school in Lanzhou city.This research applicate the methods of literatur, survey, statistical and logicalanalysis, we have a comprehensive understanding of the current status of track andfield teaching in Lanzhou high schools, analysis its influencing factors and explore itssolutions, serve as a reference and source for implementation of new curriculumstandards and the track and field teaching for effective in Lanzhou city. Researchfindings: it tends to be reasonable in terms of qualifications, title, age in Lanzhou,intermediate and senior teachers are currently teaching core strength sports inLanzhou city, Young and middle-aged teachers occupy a greater proportion in middleschool physical education teachers in Lanzhou city. Their specialty are mainly in ballgames and track and field, Track and field sports has broad basis in senior highphysical education teaching and training of Lanzhou, it is very advantageous for Implementing Middle School PE curriculum standard, P.E teachers ’ workload tendsto be reasonable.Therefore, physical education teachers have good professional theoretical level,fully able to meet the requirements of the new curriculum reform,and provided abetter human resources support for the teaching of high school sports in Lanzhou City.However there is a clear awareness of the deviation that sports teachers on the manyvalues of track and field, athletics teacher specialized quality remains to be furtherenhanced, and again for teaching material development and innovation is stillrelatively short,teaching of track and field is not rich enough, form a single, outdatedteaching methods and means, and the urgent need to reform and innovation ofteaching pattern.Physical fitness and motor ability of Lanzhou senior middle school students arepoor, most of the students are lack an adequate understanding and knowledge of trackand field. But students ’ sense of track and field events and practice value is relativelyhigh, this indicates is it objective and reasonable that the value judgment of highschool student on track and field. Judging from the results of students ’ activeparticipation in track and field, students ’ desires of motivated to participate in trackand field learningare lower, mostly focused on the ball and some emerging projects,This is because of low awareness on track and field, track and field is single and dull,the joy of experience of success opportunities is fewer compared to other projects,thatdeeply affects to carry out senior high school s ’ track and field teaching in Lanzhou.Significantly reduce the number of teaching hours of track and field in Lanzhousenior high school, teaching a single,the combination of theory and practice is stillrelatively lacking on school physical education teaching, due to uncertainty of trackand field teaching under new curriculum standards, Resulting in many track and fieldevents were discarded, that affected the integrity of the track and field teaching inmiddle school.High school track and field venue in Lanzhou city, a serious lack of equipment,facilities and aging, sport funding shortfall, of PE teachers ’ low pay, workload is notcomprehensive enough, this also reflected from the side head of physical education inschools to improve students ’ lack of awareness about the value and function of the health level.In Lanzhou senior high school physical education teaching and learning situationof the students do not have a unified scientific system of examination and evaluation,most teachers are still using teacher evaluation and summative evaluation, thatsignificantly reduces students ’ motivation in learning and participatory who are poorin track and field foundation, it also affects the teaching of track and field because ofthis imperfect examination and evaluation system, while also impeded middle schoolsports courses reform of process.Many problems in track and field teaching for high school sports in Lanzhou city,this paper proposes the following measures: changing ideas, awareness-raising,attached great importance to the basic position of track and field in physical educationteaching in middle school; increasing investment to improve facility conditions; toimprove teaching ability of teachers themselves,takingthe teachers ’training as one ofthe strategies for improving the teaching abilities;Gradually improving sports teacherstreatment, continued promoting their enthusiasm of sports teachers; mining andexpanding teaching content, realizating pluralism of PE teaching in middle schools;innovating track and field teaching method, realizating sports teaching formsdiversification; increasing sports funding inputs, improving sports teachingenvironment; strengthening track and field teaching organization way of interestingexploration and practice; strengthening middle school sports teaching management,specificating sports teaching acts, middle school sports teaching management,specificatiing sports teaching acts, strengthening middle school track and fieldteaching of guide.
