According to the different geographic environment,the elderly can be divided intourban and rural elderly,according to the different levels of knowledge,they can bedivided into higher-education and ordinary elderly. As the growth of the elderly population,the higher-education elderly attract the attention from all the world because of its uniquecharacteristic. In this paper, discussing the effectiveness of group work in psychologicalneeds about the higher-education elderly based on the characteristics of group work andcombined their psychological needs.H community is a community in university, the elderly could represent thehigh-education elderly. Through the analysis about the psychological needs about thehigher-education elderly, with the help of questionnaire and structured interview, thehigher-education psychological demands can be researched,and then from group work toget the result. Carrying out the activities about the social needs and learning needs ofhigh-education elderly targeted activities, and makes the corresponding evaluation,summary and reflection the effect and deficiency.By the activities can be learned,group work can make certain achievements about thesocial needs of the higher-education elderly,but make no certain achievements about thelearning needs of the higher-education elderly. This not only involves the effectiveness ofthe activities,are also associated with the old man’s participation, both are interacting.Therefore, positive and effective group work not only need workers professionalknowledge skills,and also take importance for the members’dominant position.
